Care

Hall Carr FarmHall Carr Farm  is a registered children’s home for boys aged 10 – 17 years of age who have complex needs arising from emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. The home is an integral part of Belmont School, and our aim is to provide a seamless “Wrap Around” provision of both education and care, by incorporating a 24hr curriculum, specifically tailored to the young person’s individual needs.

Our aim is to provide up to four long term residential placements, designed to meet the particular needs of each young person. This isachieved by adopting a collaborative and effective approach by both the residential and educational staff working as one team to meet the holistic needs of each young person. The home  devises and implements individual Placement Plans that address each young person’s care needs, enabling them to optimise their potential and to achieve, or contribute to the achievement of desired outcomes such as: being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and achieving economic wellbeing.

In order to achieve our aims we provide a child-centred nurturing and supportive environment, which offers safety, security and stability by working in partnership with young people, their parents or carers, placing agency and other professionals in:

  • Offering an environment in a spacious and well appointed detached converted farmhouse in a stunning location, conducive to the individual’s personal growth, where care staff act as positive role models, providing consistent boundaries and engaging respectfully with young people
  • Providing each young person with a sustainable programme of social integration tailored to their changing needs, interests and choices.
  • Considering the cultural, racial, spiritual, linguistic and all other needs of young people and make strenuous efforts to meet those needs by the provision of appropriate support and resources.
  • Helping young people come to terms with the physical and emotional separation from family and social networks.
  • Supporting young people to access an appropriate educational service in accordance with agreed plans.
  • Preparing young people for their discharge/transition in accordance with agreed plans.
