It is with regret that I have to inform you that next week Belmont secondary site will be closed due to a Covid outbreak (w/c 28th June).
We have taken advice from Public Health England as well as OFG Health and Safety department and have been staying up to date with test results as they have come through.
The number of positive Covid cases on site has risen. Although the number of negative test results still significantly outweigh the positive results, because there are more than two positive results from at least two separate sources the situation is now classed as an outbreak.
On Thursday our initial response to one positive case was to partially open (KS3 only) to eliminate the spread. This response has not been successful, so we have been forced to close today. This is absolutely a last resort and something we have tried hard to avoid.
We know that advance notification is important to you and this morning’s message was later than we’d hoped due to our reliance on third party information update. We aim to improve on this and will put further updates on our website and send information via email in addition to the text service used today.
The online learning timetables are being updated and will be shared with you via email and on the website. If there are any queries with these please keep us updated via email to the Curriculum Lead: Michael Chaloner, email@example.com
The situation is still classed as live, due to this there will be further updates as the week progresses.
If your child has been/is being tested please keep school informed of the results so we can track the situation and seek further advice.
Please send an email to: Dean Rainford firstname.lastname@example.org
Any other enquiries please sent to our central inbox: email@example.com
If your contact details have changed, please let us know immediately.
Thank you for your patience with this difficult situation.
