We are delighted to inform you another sporting success. Last year the school received its Silver School Mark Award from our School Games and Youth Sports Trust and we are working well towards the gold award this year.
Belmont Primary represented the school on Wednesday 24th April in a cricket festival. With really cold windy conditions pupils from years 1 & 2 did not let that put them off. We saw some amazing catching, batting and bowling skills from all participants, but it was Belmont who prevailed over the other 11 schools who participated. The boys did Belmont proud and came away with the highest award so congratulations goes to both pupils and staff.
The school also won the inter schools Boccia competition in early February and go on to represent Rossendale at North West School Games finals.
The PE & ODE department pleased to celebrate our collaboration, bringing both the Primary and Secondary school together in the form of a 3 day residential trip. Pupils from year 6 and pupils from the secondary school nurture classes, will for the first time attend a 3 day PGL trip. Pupils will participate in all types of activities including, team building, kayaking, raft building, zip lining, fencing, silent disco and many more. For the year 6 pupils it will enhance their transition from primary to secondary school where they will get to work with staff from the secondary school.
