Home News & Events Enrichment Visit to the Lancashire Fusiliers Museum 🇬🇧
On Wednesday, four pupils taking part in Enrichment visited the Lancashire Fusiliers Museum, where they received a fascinating historical overview of the Regiment’s long and distinguished history.
The pupils explored the displays in chronological order — from the Peninsular Wars right through to the Afghanistan conflict — gaining a real sense of how soldiers’ experiences have changed over time. They observed the evolution of uniforms, weapons, and daily life across the different eras, bringing their learning vividly to life.
A highlight of the visit was walking through the museum’s replica trench, complete with the authentic smells that soldiers would have endured. The group also explored the Quartermasters’ store and viewed an impressive collection of medals, including several Victoria Crosses.
A brilliant, hands-on learning experience for all involved!
