Home News & Events Year 10 Visit to Myerscough College Farm
Our Year 10 pupils recently had an inspiring visit to Myerscough College farm, exploring the many career opportunities in agriculture and land-based industries.
During the visit, pupils learned about the range of apprenticeships available, as well as the variety of roles on a modern farm, from animal care and farm management to agricultural engineering and technology. They were fascinated by the robotic system used for milking cows, automated machinery for cleaning slurry, and innovative methods for delivering feed to livestock, highlighting how science and technology are shaping the future of farming.
The visit tied closely to the biology topics being studied in class, giving pupils a practical insight into how their learning can apply to real world careers. It was a valuable opportunity for them to consider future pathways and understand the skills and qualifications needed for different roles in agriculture.
We are very proud of our pupils, who were excellent representatives of the school, engaged, curious, and eager to learn about the exciting career possibilities in the sector.
Photos from the visit are included, showcasing the pupils in action and exploring the farm.
