Home News & Events Year 7A Travel Back in Time at Manchester Museum! 🦖
Year 7A enjoyed an exciting educational visit to Manchester Museum as part of their Science learning on evolution, bringing their classroom learning to life through fascinating exhibits and hands-on activities.
The visit began in the museum’s fossil galleries, where pupils explored a range of specimens and discovered more about how life on Earth has changed over millions of years. Armed with notebooks, they recorded interesting facts and engaged enthusiastically with the exhibits. A particular highlight was seeing Stan and April, the museum’s impressive dinosaur skeletons!
Pupils also took part in practical activities that encouraged them to think like scientists, apply their knowledge and ask questions. They then explored other areas of the museum, discovering live animals and learning more about the impact humans have on the natural world.
Throughout the visit, our pupils represented Belmont brilliantly, demonstrating curiosity, respect and maturity. It was fantastic to see them engaging so positively with the exhibits, museum staff and one another.
To round off the day, each pupil received a special souvenir to take home, including a Manchester Museum pencil, a picture of Stan the dinosaur and their very own fossil!
The visit was a memorable experience and a fantastic opportunity for Year 7A to deepen their understanding of evolution while developing their scientific curiosity beyond the classroom.
Well done, Year 7A, for representing Belmont so well!
