Forest School Celebrates Sir David Attenborough’s 100th Birthday

This week in Forest School, the children have been celebrating the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough by learning about his remarkable life and the important work he has done to help people understand and appreciate the natural world.

The children explored how Sir David travelled to some of the most remote and unexplored places on Earth, from deep oceans to isolated communities, discovering incredible wildlife and environments and sharing them with audiences across the world.

Inspired by his work, the children also turned their attention closer to home. They discussed how nature has changed within our local area and around the school grounds, considering how these changes have affected the wildlife we see every day.

It has been a wonderful opportunity for the children to reflect on the importance of caring for the environment and protecting the natural world for future generations.
