Home News & Events Adventurous Training Building Confidence and Self Worth
At Belmont School, we believe strongly in giving pupils opportunities beyond the classroom, and adventurous training is an important part of this.
These experiences support pupils to grow in confidence, resilience and independence. Activities such as climbing, walking, and team challenges encourage pupils to try new things in a safe and supportive environment. For many, simply taking part is a significant achievement.
When pupils face challenges and begin to overcome them, they start to see themselves differently. Completing a task they once thought was too difficult helps build confidence and a belief that they can succeed. Over time, these experiences contribute to a stronger sense of self worth.
Staff are there throughout to guide and encourage, ensuring that each pupil is supported at the right level. The focus is not on being the best, but on taking part, showing determination and making progress.
We continue to see the positive impact of these opportunities on our pupils. They return with a greater sense of confidence, a willingness to try, and a more positive view of themselves.
